This is perfect really and in no way am I trying to be sycophantic . You're vision is thought provoking and reminds the viewer of the frailty of the life and body we hold (in our hands .) The title is also intriguing as it seems so detached from what's actually going on in the picture and makes one wonder why it is a "MASK" . As for the originality of the piece I personally consider it as highly original . I believe if I had have ever seen anything even close to this I would have recalled it ; although it does bring to mind a few parallels such as crucifixion , aborted babes and the victims of an atomic blast . Technique is also strong in your piece ; it was ingenious to use photography for the hands and then to draw the figure . The background is technical but messy in a way , confused and complicated and the use of reds and blues gives it a primal gritty feeling . Keeping the hands white (apart for the blood like splatters across them) was a brilliant decision as it keeps focus on the figure without understating its simple red form . Finally as far as impact is concerned I think my critique is evidence enough but if I am to elaborate then I must say this image is haunting , striking and really eye catching and thought provoking . I love it .
